Our Mission

Wyoming Youth is the student ministry arm of the Wyoming District Council of the Assemblies of God. Our goal is to develop a movement where 6th through 12th grade students are able to discover Jesus and engage in His plan for their lives.

We believe that when we encounter Christ, bystanders become contenders, neutralists become activists, and cultural consumers become producers.

Wyoming Youth is devoted to developing relevant opportunities to connect and inspire Wyoming students to pursue a relationship with Jesus. These opportunities include: conventions, camps, retreats, social media outlets, internships, and equipping each minister and student leader with the tools and knowledge to reach their culture!

2018 was a year for the books.

By March we had funded all of our Speed the Light projects—from putting brand-new sound systems across Wyoming to getting our Chi Alpha missionary family a new 2017 Chevy Traverse.

Why so serious, Derik?

Why so serious, Derik?

We launched the first year of our internship program, PHASED IN, with two students from Casper and Douglas, Wyoming, respectively.

We hosted our first Leader’s Summit and had record-breaking attendance at PK retreat! We also took our first overseas missions trip in over a decade to the beautiful Panama City, Panama. Working in the schools with the Kenyons was by far one of the most profound moments of our year!

All of that underplays the impact of our summer Hunger Camps (based on the popular sensation that is the Hunger Games), where we saw miracles happening at the hands of students as youth were impacted by Christ and his all-consuming love and power.

Convention continued the conversation started at camp by reminding students that they were bought with a price, which has rendered them pricelessly valued by King Jesus—they, and everyone around them were worth the blood and death of God’s only begotten son.

We ended the year by fulfilling our 30-day Speed the Light fundraising challenge. All of our 2019 projects, including a brand new vehicle for Margot and Alicia Rea, are fully funded thanks to your obedient giving!

Thanks for being a part of making 2018 awesome!
